The store manager will assist the ownership with the operation of a profitable store that is focused on exceptional customer service that exceeds customer expectations. Responsible for all aspects of managing a single store including hiring/scheduling, training, developing and managing a team focused on the customer. Assist with the oversight of day to day store operations to achieve sales and profitability goals, customer acquisition and customer retention. Accountable for inventory quality control, budgeting, including labor cost and operational expenses. This is a hands-on, led by example position. This job requires daily interaction with customers and employees on the front end with customers and employees. While backend administration duties are required it is not the primary duty of the job.
  
  
  • Team Development- Identifying, recruiting and properly staffing the store to ensure customer needs are exceeded while scheduling to maintain labor budget goals. Total labor goal below 20% of net sales.
  • Coaching, training and motivating team members to achieve higher performance and interaction with all customers.  Being able to train employees to perform all duties up to expectation requires the manager have a personal mastery of all jobs. Must model a high level of excellent customer service and ability to be seen as a strong mentor/role model with unmatched work ethic.
  • Demonstrate high values and service by leading by example on the sales floor. This means being able to work quickly, efficiently and be willing to step in and help the team perform their duties when needed. Must understand daily priorities and be able to direct the team to get them done
  • Schedule regular meetings with team members to keep abreast with additional training, changing conditions and current fashion trends.
  • Be able to recognize employee related issues that require training, coaching or conferencing and be willing to deal with the issues.
  • Sales and Results Driven. This means the manager has a clear understanding of how the resale business operates as it relates to buy numbers, customer invoices, customer service, floor management, inventory management and inventory markdowns. 
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive customer traffic, customer buys and customer sales.
  • Adhere to company guidelines keeping COGS in balance and minimizing potential for loss. This also means making sure all protocols aimed to decrease internal or external theft are enforced. This includes honest time clock management and use.
  • Maintain a fresh and visually enticing store that is clean and well organized at a level exceeding the competition and above customer expectations. This means making sure endcaps are fresh, well merchandise, seasonally appropriate and filled with product. Be able to spot needs in this area and initiate and participate in change.
  • Must be a self starter who works hard when the owner is present and when she is not. 
  • Must have a genuine interest in learning the business of resale!
Will not work 7 days a week but must be available all days of the week, nights and weekends to share store coverage responsibilities with the owner, assistant manager and lead buyers. Must have a strong work history. Retail management experience in a fast paced, large volume retail or restaurant environment is a required. References will be checked. Qualifications
  • Strong demonstration of current fashion trends for core customer.
  • Strong coaching/leadership, customer service and selling skills with a take-charge mentality. Be able willing to interact and engage with customers in a welcoming and personable manner.  
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, holidays and consisting of 40 hours per week.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.  
  • Demonstration of management skills and the go-to source for the team for creative solutions for all challenges encountered. Be willing to address employee issues and be able to answer or know how to find answers or solutions to daily situations.
  • Outwardly display a high level of energy without need for motivation. Must understand the need to work quickly, efficiently and in a manner that demonstrate the understanding of urgency of the volume of work that has to be done on a daily basis. This a fast paced environment so requires team members be able to function in such environment.
  • Must understand that as manager you will have to recognize and will encounter situations that need solutions. Must be willing to address challenging or difficult situations with employees and or customers in a professional manner that supports the owner and successful operation of the business.
  • Must understand that this is a leadership role that requires an individual who leads by example. This means they can perform all duties on the sales floor, train and mentor all employees on each role if needed, can jump in and help on all roles if needed and most importantly is respected because of their work ethic and job performance. This is not a behind the scene job but rather an on the sales floor leadership position.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years fast paced, large sales volume retail or restaurant lead manager experience to be considered for manager position. Assistant manager positions are available and requires 1-2 years retail management experience. Resale and/or fashion retail management is preferred. A personal interest in the resale business market is necessary to perform this job well.
  • Opportunity to advance to regional management position over both Uptown Cheapskate Murfreesboro and Kid to Kid Brentwood is possible if performing well in this management position.
  • Need to love the resale business
  • Salary negotiable with the right candidate. Must have retail management experience! Resale/Consignment experience highly desirable.
